Ciompi Quartet and DITA Director to Perform New Piano Quintet
Duke University's resident ensemble, The Ciompi Quartet, are to perform in spring 2013 with Duke Initiatives in Theology and the Arts Director Jeremy Begbie.
The centerpiece of the evening's program will be a newly-commissioned work by prominent American composer Christopher Theofanidis.
At the Still Point, a quintet for piano and strings, is part of wider program of artistic and theological engagements with T.S. Eliot’s poem Four Quartets, including an exhibition of paintings by Makoto Fujimura and Bruce Herman in Duke Chapel.
The concert will take place on Sunday, January 27 at 5.00pm in the Nelson Music Room. Tickets are on sale now at Duke Performances.
