Ed AdamsOn behalf of the Duke University Divinity School Office of Black Church Studies, our associate dean, the Rev. Dr. Joy J. Moore, our teaching faculty, the black staff, and our black seminarians, we stand with the family of the Rev. Edward Allen Adams in this time of sorrow.

The Duke Divinity School community, along with many others, remembers and honors the life of Ed Adams. We will miss his courageous spirit, servant's attitude, and commitment to glorify Christ.

To us, he lived and demonstrated the exemplary model of a Christian who balanced the roles of husband, father, minister, student, mentor, and friend. He personified living life to the fullest even as illness made him face his own mortality. His 31 years exemplified that quality defines quantity when measuring the impact of one's life.

We pray that God will strengthen you, keep you, and enfold you with love during your journey through grief.

Together we will hold in memory the impact of his generosity, which time cannot steal, as we yield for now to the heartache of his death, which only God can heal. We celebrate with you the life, ministry, and contributions of the Rev. Ed Adams.
