Adjunct Professor Abdullah Antepli to Give Opening Prayer at U.S. House of Representatives
Abdullah T. Antepli, an adjunct faculty member at Duke Divinity School and with the Duke Islamic Studies Center as well as Duke University’s Muslim chaplain, will deliver the opening prayer for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., at 10 a.m. on March 3. Antepli is serving as guest chaplain at the invitation of Congressman David Price, D-N.C.
The prayer can be viewed live on C-SPAN and online.
“I am deeply humbled and honored to be asked to give this opening prayer. It is a great honor for me and for Duke University,” Antepli said. “It’s wonderful that Congress, through their invitation, is acknowledging Duke’s commitment to diversity and a pluralistic society.”
