Duke Divinity’s New Look
You’ve probably noticed that the look and feel of this redesigned website is significantly different from the old divinity.duke.edu, with a much heavier emphasis on photography, audio, and video content. Rest assured that the goal of the site is the same: to support Duke Divinity School’s mission of engaging in spiritually disciplined and academically rigorous education in service and witness to the Triune God in the church, the academy, and the world.
In addition to the content we’ve always shared through the website, such as degree program information, descriptions of departments and initiatives, and stories about alumni and their ministries, we plan to bring you even more information related to faculty scholarship and teaching, student projects and achievement, and opportunities to engage the Divinity School through both degree- and non-degree programs.
At the bottom of every page of the site you will find a link to a new feature called “United Methodist Connections.” On this page we will highlight the many Divinity School programs and initiatives designed to strengthen and enhance the lives and ministries of United Methodists across North Carolina and beyond. We’ll especially focus on efforts growing from the Divinity School’s longstanding partnerships with The Duke Endowment and the two conferences of the United Methodist Church in North Carolina.
Also in the footer you will see links to Duke University and to Faith & Leadership, the magazine of Leadership Education at Duke Divinity, as well as our social media channels, such as Facebook and Twitter.
In the top right position of each page, please note the “Resources for” button, which will expand to show links of interest to specific audiences such as alumni, students, and faculty and staff.
Nearly all of the content from the old site exists on this new one. Several popular features, including faculty pages, Divinity in the media, and job postings, have simply been moved to fit more logically within the site. You can always use the search box if you have trouble finding something.
We hope you will take a few minutes to explore the new site. We’re also eager to hear your comments and suggestions about how we might continue to improve it. We look forward to hearing from you!
