As We Forgive

Duke Divinity School will host a film and discussion on April 2 focusing on forgiveness and reconciliation in the context of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda and its aftermath.

The event begins at 7 p.m. in 0012 Westbrook with a showing of "As We Forgive," a documentary that follows the lives of four neighbors affected by the Rwandan genocide and their extraordinary journey from death to life through forgiveness.

A panel discussion, to include audience questions and interaction, will follow. The panelists include:

  • Steve Breedlove, rector,  All Saints Church, Chapel Hill
  • Ellen Davis, professor of Bible and practical theology, Duke Divinity School
  • John Kiess, Ph.D. candidate in Theology and Ethics, Duke Divinity School 
  • Gerard Nsabimana, M.Div. student, Duke Divinity School

Jo Bailey Wells, associate professor of the practice of Christian ministry and Bible and director of Anglican Studies, will moderate.

The event is sponsored by All Saints Church, the Anglican Episcopal House of Studies at Duke Divinity School, and the Duke Center for Reconciliation.
