Job Description: 

Purpose:    Responsible for implementing and growing Central’s program of discipleship and faith formation for persons in grades 6-12.  

Hours:    Full-time (position requires weekend and evening responsibilities)

Salary:    TBD

•    B.A. or equivalent degree required
•    Training and experience in Christian youth ministry preferred
•    Excellent organizational and communication skills
•    Feels calling to work with this age group
•    Excellent computer and internet skills
•    Membership in a local church or Annual Conference
•    Understands and excels in team model of ministry

•    Establish and grow relationships with congregation’s youth
•    Engage Florence community as a means to connect with unchurched youth
•    Develop small group ministry within youth structure
•    Resource and grow graded Sunday School program
•    Vision and programming for Middle School and Senior High Youth groups
•    Programming for other weekday ministries
•    Recruiting and training volunteers, including Sunday School teachers
•    Equip Youth Council
•    Be connected to United Methodist activities and groups at District and Conference level
•    Provide opportunities for outreach and mission, including Santahatchie
•    Develop and maintain partnership with youth and parents
•    Counsel and support youth and families as needed
•    Equip and train families for effective faith and life skills development, including spiritual practices
•    Resource confirmation process
•    Attend weekly staff meetings, Education and Spiritual Growth Ministry Team meetings, and Church Council
•    Develop and manage annual youth budget
