Recruiting for Rural Service
Recruiting for Rural Service
Many of North Carolina’s rural UMC pastors are taking part in Convocation on the Rural Church this week, which I’m finding to be a wonderful source of fresh ideas and fellowship. We look forward to sharing highlights from that event in an upcoming post.
But today, there’s a post by John James on the Clergy Health Initiative blog that might be of interest to many of you with a passion for the rural church. The Washington Post recently ran a story about rural health care and the challenge of finding young physicians with the gifts and passion (some might even say the call) to work in a rural area.
Perhaps you, like John, see parallels to rural ministry.
