Recipes for the Heart and Soul

At this week's 2010 Faith and Health Summit, the North Carolina Council of Churches' Partners in Health and Wholeness Program debuted the Beta version of Recipes for the Heart and Soul: A Guide to Cooking Healthily in Large Quantities. For information, you can contact the Council on the web.
In addition to recipes, the cookbook includes a number of wonderful prayers to use while preparing and blessing meals. One of my favorites is the following:
O God, we give thanks for our bodies.
We thank you for muscle, bone and blood; for each strength,
each unique shape, each intricate organ.
As we eat this week, open our mouths to
the aromas, the textures, the tastes of nourishing foods.
Shape our appetites to fit the needs of our bodies. Amen
