Church Engagement Specialist-Raleigh/Durham
Summary At Thrivent, we care about helping Christians develop a healthy relationship with money; and we equip churches with resources to do that. In this position you will cultivate relationships with the leaders of key churches and faith-based organizations in the region. Using active listening to understand the needs of local congregations, you will identify how Thrivent can better serve and strengthen Christian communities in helping Christians be wise with money and live generously. As you build valued relationships, you will introduce Thrivent programs and resources to serve the needs of local churches. Candidates for this role are consummate relationship builders who are enthusiastic about Thrivent’s mission and the vitality of Christian communities in the region. Job Description •Build relationships with Christian leaders and grow Thrivent awareness in the region by leveraging Thrivent resources that strengthen Christian communities. •Create a service model to maintain contact with Christian leaders; obtain, maintain and report current key information on churches. Track processes and outcomes of relationship building efforts. •Develop and activate strategic partnerships with local organizations that drive awareness, connections and opportunities for engagement with Christian churches. •Present a variety of financial education workshops as needed in churches and other organizational settings. •Help activate Christian leaders and members to become champions for Thrivent, grow the reputation of Thrivent and our faith-based mission, and understand ways to connect with new Christian communities. •Develop and maintain a robust knowledge of the varied programs, resources, and product offerings across Thrivent available to churches. •Be the voice of the customer in the region. Identify, communicate and assist in the development of products and/or services by researching and resolving church’s problems, and providing feedback for changes to resources, products, and services.
Required Job Qualifications •Bachelor degree preferred. •Enthusiasm for building relationships and networking. •Able communicator. Ability to listen well, ask good questions, and probe for further understanding. •A demonstrated track record of success in working with church and non-profit leaders in the region. •Strong public speaking skills. •Demonstrated ability to build rapport and healthy relationships and facilitate execution of plans with individuals and groups. •Demonstrated ability to build trust and earn credibility quickly; ability to develop healthy relationships with key constituencies. •Strong situation analysis, consulting skills and creative problem solving skills such that s/he can identify the appropriate resources to engage. •Understanding of how Christian churches work, including leadership and organization management. •Self-managed and motivated; ability to execute, proven ability to work with limited supervision. Miscellaneous •Ability to travel up to 50% locally within the work geography (Birmingham, AL) •Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
