Emmaus Way, a Durham community church, seeks a caring and enthusiastic individual to work with our children. We would love for this person to collaborate with us as we continue to develop our posture and practices as an intergenerational community. We want to include children fully as valued participants as we seek to engage in God’s redemptive work.
An ideal candidate would:
- Have experience working with children ages 2-5 or 6-12 years old
- Be excited to help children learn about and listen to God
- Be warm and approachable
- Be able to develop relationships with children
- Be energetic and mobile to engage in activities with children
- Be interested in collaborating with a children’s ministry team
Our worship gathering runs from 4:30-6:00 pm on Sunday nights. Applicants would need to be available from around 4:10 pm-6:10 pm. The position requires 2-3 hours of work per week, and the compensation is $45 per week. The hired individual would be invited and welcome to take part in the team that does weekly worship gathering planning, and the team that is working on continuing to develop our approach to walking with and learning from children. This position should be a great experience for ministry training and for a thoughtful, intentional process of evaluating existing practices and imagining new intergenerational practices within a church community.
Interested applicants should send a cover letter, phone number, and resume to email@example.com. Any questions can be directed to the same address. We will begin reviewing applications immediately.
