Basin and Towel is sponsoring a book collection for Seth Mokitimi Methodist Seminary in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. The new seminary has few books and limited financial resources to buy them. Donations of new or lightly used textbooks may be dropped off at 104 Westbrook. Books should be ones published after 1990 or those considered "standard" or "classic" texts useful in seminary classes.

This Transition to Ministry Workshop, “Incarnational Ministry: Serving the Church without Starving Your Soul,” will focus on the challenges of well-being and health in ministry. There will be a discussion on strategies for creating paradigms of ministry and leadership that model and enable health, healing, and responsive ministries. The New Creation Arts Group will hold a brown bag discussion on "Five Thoughts about Pastoring Artists in Your Community" with David Taylor, a Th.D. student in theology and the arts. He is the former pastor of the arts ministry at Hope Chapel in Austin, Texas, and a contributor and editor of the book, "For the Beauty of the Church: Casting a Vision for the Arts." Taylor will discuss how theology and the arts can be relevant to parish ministry.

Senior M.Div. student Mark Gorman will offer a presentation on "What Can the Art of Hymn-Leading Teach Us about Theology?" drawing on a directed reading course supervised by David Arcus, chapel organist and associate university organist, and Duke Divinity School Professor Jo Bailey Wells. The presentation will include demonstrations of improvisation and hymn-leading techniques on the Goodson Chapel organ, as well as proposals on what pastors and theologians can learn from organists' engagement with hymns.
Divinity School Second Annual Field Day
The Second Annual Duke Divinity School Field Day for students, faculty, and staff will be a time to play some games and take a break during reading week. Family and friends are also invited to the free event, coordinated by the Divinity Student Council. There will be free pizza. The event was rescheduled from April 9.
The location will be just ouside of the Divinity School, on the lawn in front of Duke Chapel.

The 2011 senior class photo will be available to purchase online using a credit or debit card through July 31, 2011. The cost will be $10 for each 8 X 10 color print and $3.99 total for shipping.

Axe of the Apostles, a Duke Divinity School improvisation comedy group, will perform a show. Attendees may bring their lunches.

Tickets are now available for the Divinity School’s 2011 Broadway Revue, an annual fundraiser showcasing student, staff, and faculty talent.
This year, the event takes place in a new venue, Durham’s Hayti Heritage Center, and features two 7 p.m. performances—Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16.
