'Live at the Lampstand' Honors Seniors

This month's "Live at the Lampstand" talent show will honor and feature performances by graduating seniors at Duke Divinity School. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to the annual celebration. Drinks and cookies will be provided.

The Divinity School Office of Student and Community Life holds "Live at the Lampstand" monthly. The free event showcases the talents of the Divinity School community. Performances include vocal and instrumental pieces, original poetry and short story readings, dance, comedy, paintings, and skits.

The Divinity Bookshop, the Office of Student and Community Life at Duke Divinity School, and Abbot Hall manufacturing company will sponsor "Annual Robe Day" in which students, faculty, staff, and the public can buy clerical, academic, and judicial robes. Abbot Hall representatives will be at the event to take measurements and take custom orders.

"Milites Christi," a student organization at Duke Divinity School, will hold a lunchtime conversation open to students, faculty, and staff. The group holds conversations to advance the interests of prospective, current, and former service members, their families, and those interested in veterans' issues in the church, world, and the academy.

The primary aim is to develop a pastoral response to the problems of war and peace based on a fundamental conviction that God directs people toward peaceful resolution of conflict.

Participants may bring their lunches.
