Methodist House provides opportunities for United Methodist and other Pan-Methodist students (AME, AMEZ, CME, Nazarene, Free Methodist, and Wesleyan) to gather for fellowship and formation. The house hosts worship, seminars, social events, and other Methodist enrichment events.
Sacred Worth, a student organization, and the Methodist House of Studies at Duke Divinity School will host a luncheon with a presentation by Bishop Hope Morgan Ward of the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church on being an LGBTQ ally in the United Methodist Church.
There will be a free lunch.
The Methodist House of Studies at Duke Divinity School will hold an "Away Tailgate" event featuring dinner for the Divinity School community and their family and friends prior to watching the Duke men's basketball game against Florida State. The away game will be televised in 0016 Westbrook.
The dinner will be at 6 p.m., with the game starting at 7 p.m. There also will be small crafts for children and "tailgate" style games for all.

The Methodist House of Studies at Duke Divinity School will hold an Advent Lessons & Hymns Service in Goodson Chapel. The service will be followed from 6 to 7:30 p.m. by an advent community supper open to all students, faculty, and staff that is being sponsored by the Office of Student Life at the Divinity School in Alumni Memorial Common Room.
The registration deadline for this meal is Nov. 25.
The Methodist House of Studies will hold a brown-bag information session about being a Duke Divinity School exchange student in England, Germany, The Netherlands and Hong Kong.
The 2014-15 exchange students will share about their experiences at the session, "Global Exchanges at Duke Divinity School."
Beverages will be provided.
Duke Divinity School's Baptist House of Studies and Methodist House of Studies will hold a public lecture, "A Case for Believer Baptism/A Case for Infant Baptism: A Way Forward."
Lecturers will be: Curtis Freeman, research professor of theology and Baptist studies, and director of the Baptist House; and Stephen Gunter, associate dean for Methodist studies, research professor of evangelism and Wesleyan studies, and director of the Methodist House.
The Baptist House of Studies and the Methodist House of Studies at Duke Divinity School will sponsor a presentation by Ulrike Schuler, professor of church history, Methodism, and ecumenism at the Reutlingen School of Theology in Reutlingen, Germany.
The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. with coffee, tea and pastries, followed by a half hour presentation by Schuler on "Reformation as an Ongoing Process: A Challenge for Free Churches in Europe" and then questions from the audience.
Duke Divinity School will hold a Service of Word and Song celebrating hymns in the Wesleyan tradition. This service will be led by the Methodist House of Studies at the school.
All are welcome.
The Methodist House of Studies at Duke Divinity School will sponsor "Ministry Bloopers," an event with the Rev. Nick Jeffries from Camp and Retreat Ministries of the North Carolina UMC, the Rev. Ed Priestaf, and McKennon Shea, director of admissions at the school. There also will be a special appearance by AXE of the Apostles, the school's improvisational comedy troupe.
A taco bar with gluten free and vegetarian options will be available for $3 each.
The Methodist House of Studies at Duke Divinity School will hold a public lunch discussion on "Being Wesleyan in a Post-Denominational Society" with Bishop Ivan Abrahams, general secretary of the World Methodist Council.
Lunch will be $3 each.
