Developing Strategy in the Midst of Change

Leadership Education at Duke Divinity will host a course for institutional leaders designed to allow each participant to work on a problem facing their Christian institution. Together they will properly diagnose the problem and begin shaping a coherent, sustainable action plan.

Readings, class dialogue, and activities will explore social and environmental trends affecting Christian institutions as well as the mindsets, activities, and traits that position institiutional leaders to effectively craft and implement strategy.

Participants will learn, serve, worship, and fellowship in intentional Christian community with Divinity School faculty on the Duke University campus.

People of all denominations who are making the transition from parish ministry to executive-level positions within denominational governing bodies or who have been in their role fewer than three years are welcome to apply for this selective program. A version of this program designed for United Methodist district superintendents also is available.
