The Hispanic House of Studies at Duke Divinity School will hold an information meeting on how the it can serve as a resource for students seeking to serve and understand the growing Hispanic and Latino community in the U.S.  

The meeting will include information about the Camianates (Walkers) program for students and pastors, field education placement in Latin America, and the Manos Unidas (United Hands) student group. There also will be a question and answer session. Lunch will be provided.

Applications for the Caminantes program will be available during the Divinity School Orientation Week on Aug. 18-25. The program's first meeting will be held Sept. 2 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Room 0044 Langford Building.


Worship Service led by Hispanic House of Studies and 'Caminantes'

Duke Divinity School will hold a Service of Word and Table led by the Hispanic House of Studies and the Caminantes student group, both at the school. Ismael Ruiz-Millán, director of the Hispanic House, will preach. The Chapel Band will provide music.

All are welcome.

The Hispanic House of Studies and Thriving Rural Communities at Duke Divinity School will sponsor a colloquium, “Scriptural Imagination: A Latino Perspective,” featuring Pablo Andiñach, a Methodist pastor and professor of Old Testament at University Institute ISEDET in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

No registration is necessary. Lunch will be provided.

Class at Christian Community Development Association national conference explored models of pilgrimages.

A trio of Duke Divinity staff co-taught a class on the practice of pilgrimage at the 25th Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) conference Sept. 11-14 in New Orleans, La.

Every year CCDA draws diverse clergy, ministry leaders, and students from across the U.S. for several days of intense reflection, learning, and growing together in classes exploring reconciliation and community development.
