Women's Voices Chorus, along with a string orchestra, will perform a spring concert, "Return to Joy," exploring the themes of grief, loss, rebirth, and joy in a variety of music including Giovanni Pergolesi's "Stabat Mater," Michael Isaacson's Holocaust cantata "Cradle of Fire," and several pieces by modern women composers. The concert also will include the area premiere of "From Behind the Caravan: Songs of Hâfez," a new work by Abbie Betinis that is set to Persian poetry by the 14th-century poet Hâfez.
