Bryan Stewart, a candidate for the open faculty position in history of Christianity at Duke Divinity School, will present a public lecture on “Ministers as Priests?: or, What Can the Ancient and Medieval Church Teach Us about Christian Ministerial Leadership?”
Stewart is an assistant professor of religion at McMurry University and teaches courses on the history of Christian thought, with an emphasis on the beliefs and practices of Christians in the patristic and early medieval eras.
His current research focuses on the gospel of John in the ancient Christian interpretive tradition, and he is under contract as the editor of a volume on the Gospel of John in The Church’s Bible series.
