Duke Divinity School and the Duke Department of Religious Studies will co-sponsor a public showing of "A Polite Bribe," a film directed by Robert Orlando about Saint Paul, followed by a panel discussion. Panelists will be Douglas Campbell, associate professor of New Testament at the Divinity School, and Mark Goodacre, professsor in the Department of Religious Studies.
The film features short conversations with most leading current scholars of Paul including A. J. Levine, Tom Wright, and Ben Witherington, and includes comments by Campbell. These short interviews are interwoven with a dramatized account of Paul's missionary career that emphasizes his troubled relationship with the mother church in Jerusalem.
The film will be shown at 7:30 p.m., followed by the 8:50 p.m. panel discussion.
