The Office of Black Church Studies at Duke Divinity School will hold a brown-bag lunch panel discussion on "The Moral Monday Movement as Prophetic Action" that is open to the community. The discussion will focus on the movement, which is entering its second year of citizens protesting changes by the Republican-led N.C. General Assembly.
Panelists will discuss the movement, its connections to the Divinity School, what is at stake, and how to get involved.
Speakers will be Divinity Schools professors William Turner and Amy Laura Hall; the Rev. Jimmie Hawkins, pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Durham, N.C.; and Rodney Sadler, professor of Old Testament at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Charlotte, N.C.
