African-American Alumni Day

The Office of Black Church Studies at Duke Divinity School will host a gathering for Divinity School African-American alumni.

The day will include a panel discussion, "Between Memory and Hope;" an alumni dinner and lecture by the Rev. William Barber, president of the North Carolina chapter of the NACCP; and worship with the Rev. Martha Simmons, the lecturer for the 2013 Gardner C. Taylor Lecture Series, associate minister at Rush Memorial United Church of Christ in Atlanta, Ga., and founder of The African American Lectionary.

The cost is $25 each, with advance registration required.

Simmons also will present a lecture and attend a luncheon with attendees as part of the this year's Gardner C. Taylor Lecture.
