"'The Rulers of This Age' and Paul's Political Theology" Lecture with Faculty Candidate Robert Moses
Duke Divinity School will hold a public lecture, "'The Rulers of This Age' and Paul's Political Theology," by New Testament faculty candidate Robert Moses, who received his doctorate in New Testament at Duke University in 2012 and is an admissions recruiter with the Office of Admissions at the school.
In I Corinthians 2:6-8 of the Bible, Paul asserts that "the rulers of this age" crucified Christ. This lecture will focus on the identity of the rulers and Paul's refusal to explicitly identify Rome as the executioner of Christ throughout his letters, which has serious political implications.
