RESCHEDULED: Duke Chapel Blessing of the Animals Service
Duke Chapel's Blessing of Animals service will be held this Sunday, Oct. 14, after being postponed Oct. 7 due to rain. The outdoor service is open to the public and all well-behaved pets. It is usually held annually on the Sunday in October closest to the Feast Day of St. Francis.
The chapel has hosted a Blessing of Animals service since 1989, a worship tradition made notable by the camels and other circus animals blessed each year at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City.
