Duke Divinity School will hold the 2012 Wallace Chappell Lecture Series featuring Dana L. Robert, Truman College Professor of World Christianity and History in Mission at the Boston University School of Theology and director of the Center for Global Christianity and Mission.
She will give two public lectures March 13: "Witness Unity and World Christianity: 1910-2011" at 12:20 p.m. in 0014 Westbrook and "Christian Presence and Proclamation Reunited"at 4 p.m. in 0016 Westbrook.
Robert is a world renowned missiologist who has published more than 10 books and numerous articles, as well as has directed over 60 doctoral dissertations related to evangelism and mission.
She delivered the keynote address at the historic centennial conference of the World Missionary Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2010 and the 2nd Global Christian Forum in Indonesia in 2011 on the subject of witness and unity in 21st century world Christianity. The forum is the most representative gathering of Christian churches in modern history, including representatives from Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Evangelical, Pentecostal, and Indigenous traditions.
