The Thriving Rural Communities Initiative, the Hispanic House of Studies, and Student Action With Farmworkers will sponsor a practical workshop, “Responses of Reconciliation: Moving from Xenophobia to Philoxenia Within the Church,” designed to help rural church leaders respond faithfully to prejudiced attitudes in the church towards immigrant communities.
Participants will reflect upon ministry case studies drawn from real-life experience and will talk together about specific Christian responses that invite others to move from a mindset of resentment to the ministry of reconciliation.
Anyone is welcome to participate, and no registration is necessary. A free lunch will be available for first 50 participants.
