"Studying Women, Studying Religion" Brown Bag Lunch with Professor Elizabeth Clark

Tuesday, March 27, 2012 - 12:30pm to 1:20pm
031 Westbrook

The Duke Divinity School Women's Center will hold a brown-bag lunch on "Studying Women, Studying Religion" with Elizabeth Clark, John Carlisle Kilgo Professor of Religion and professor of history at Duke University.

Clark, who helped make the male-centered field of "patristics" into a vibrant field of "Christianity in Late Antiquity,"  continues to support all young scholars in the field while giving particular attention to women and others who have not traditionally been in the majority.

Since she is retiring this spring, the event will be an informal opportunity to hear her reflections on a life spent in the academy and her transformative work in patristics.
