Retirement Interview of Bishop Carder by Dean Hays

Duke Divinity School will sponsor a public interview and reception to honor Bishop Kenneth L. Carder for contributions to the school and mark  his June 30, 2011 retirement as the Ruth W. and A. Morris Williams, Jr. Professor of the Practice of Christian Ministry.

Carder will continue his work at the Divinity School by serving as the new bishop in residence and as a mentor to students in the newly developed Doctor of Ministry degree program, as well as teaching individual courses periodically.

Divinity School Dean Richard B. Hays, George Washington Ivey Professor of New Testament, will conduct the interview on “The State of the Church.” The interview will be immediately followed by a reception in the Alumni Memorial Common Room from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. All Divinity School faculty, staff, and students are invited.
