The Rt. Rev. Frank Griswold, former presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, will lead a retreat for clergy sponsored by the Anglican Episcopal House of Studies at Duke Divininty School. The retreat, "Acquiring a Heart: The Mystery of Christ in Us and the Ministry We Share," is designed to nurture the Spirit’s work in participants' hearts.
Griswold will lead the group in revisiting some of the regular routines of grace — praying, preaching, celebrating and discerning — so that Christ may transform the participants and well as others through them. The day will consist of addresses, silence and opportunity for conversation. It will end with a celebration of the Eucharist.
The retreat is organized collaboratively with the cooperation of the dioceses of North Carolina, Western North Carolina and Southern Virginia.
