"Applying to Doctoral Programs" Brown-bag Lunch Panel Discussion

The Master of Theology and the Master of Theological Studies degree programs at Duke Divinity School will sponsor a panel discussion on "Applying to Doctoral Programs." The discussion aims to clarify the time consuming application process.

Speakers will include Susan Eastman, associate professor of the practice of Bible and Christian formation and the director of the Doctor of Theology Program, and Willie Jennings, associate professor of theology and black church studies, both at the Divinity School; and Kara Slade, a Ph.D. student in the Duke University Graduate Program in Religion.

The speakers will share experience and advice on topics including drafting personal statements, soliciting letters of recommendation, taking the GRE’s, campus visits, and the type of information being sough by committees. A question and answer session will follow the panel discussion.

 The event is open to all interested students.
